Although it was already presented at the end of last May, the multinationals Apple and Google have joined forces to develop a mobile application that serves as a tool to control the spread of the coronavirus covid-19.
The app has been called Exposure Notification, and as its name suggests, its functionality is to warn all those who have been in contact with someone who has been infected. To do this, geolocation is used, a feature that is activated in all cell phones, whether they have the Android operating system or IOs. According to its developers, privacy has been taken into consideration at all times, given the sensitivity of the issue.
In principle, it is not a final tool, but they make available the technology and source code so that each country can give it its own application. Most have already developed it or are in the process of doing so.
Without a doubt, this is another demonstration of how technology can help us deal with a global problem.
